			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ECSWomen is continuing our series of Careers talks, this time presenting two sessions: Interview Skills and Internships and Year Placements.</p>
<p>The first talk will be about interview skills, <span id="more-325"></span>how to dress appropriately and get ready for an important day for your career life. It takes place on 25th February 2013.</p>
<p>Second talk will be given by YINI (Year in Industry), they will provide 30 min presentation about year-long placements in UK, followed by a snack break. Then Diana Fitch will be giving information about summer internships and internships abroad. It will take place on 11th March 2013.</p>
<p>Both events will take place in Zepler Seminar room 2, starting at 6pm.</p>
<p>Refreshments and snacks will be provided.</p>
<p>Events are open to everyone.</p>
<p>Hope to see you all there.</p>

<p>The session will take place in Zepler Building, Seminar room 2, from 18.30 till 20.00. </p>
<p>It is a brilliant opportunity to ask any questions you have about being a female in industry.</p>

Come and meet us, learn about what we do and about our more exciting events in the future. Undergraduates, Posgraduates all welcome.<br />
The event will take place on the 3rd of October <span id="more-293"></span> (Wednesday) in Zepler Seminar Room 1 &#8211; just opposite the Reception. It will be a great opportunity for all of us to get to know each other. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. </p>
<p>The event will be from 2pm to 4pm, however, this is a drop in session, so just come in whenever you can/want until 4pm !</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ECSWomen strongly recommends the <a href="http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/events/detail/2012/10_Sept_HEA_STEM_Talent_2030_Aston">HEA Young Women Engineering Network Event</a>.<br />
The event is aiming to explore how to encourage and support young women in engineering and manufacturing related fields. There will be presentations form leading figures <span id="more-238"></span>in the industry and higher education in addition to a series of table discussions for outreach and how to communicate with girls in schools about the benefits of studying and having careers in STEM subjects.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future program, launched in 2004, awards fellowships to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or post-doctoral studies in the physical sciences*, engineering and technology at leading universities abroad*. <span id="more-184"></span></p>
<p>The long-term goal of the Faculty for the Future program is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing academic careers in scientific disciplines thus contributing to the socio-economic development of their home countries and regions. </p>
<p>The Faculty for the Future program is growing each year and has become a powerful community of 257 women scientists from 62 countries. Grant recipients are selected as much for their leadership capabilities as for their scientific talents. Ultimately they are expected to return to their home countries to continue their academic careers, to further their research, to teach and to become inspirational role models for other young women. </p>
<p>Faculty for the Future grants are based on actual costs up to a m aximum of USD 50,000 per year and may be renewed through to completion of studies subject to performance, self-evaluation, and recommendations from supervisors. </p>
<p>Candidates should have applied to, have been admitted to, or be currently enrolled in a university abroad* when submitting their Faculty for the Future grant application. Candidates must hold an excellent academic record and be able to evidence their commitment to teaching, research or using science in public policy advocacy. Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills and have a track record in encouraging young women into the sciences. </p>
<p>Call for Applications 2013–2014 Faculty for the Future Fellowships Faculty for the Future The Schlumberger Foundation is accepting applications for the 2013–2014 Faculty for the Future Fellowships from September 10th to November 16th 2012 for new applications; from September 10th to November 9th for renewal applications.</p>
